From feet to meters

Convert lengths between feet and meters using the exact international foot definition.

Conversion factor

1 foot = 0.3048 meters (1959 international agreement)

• Feet → meters: multiply by 0.3048
• Meters → feet: divide by 0.3048

Limitations

Uses the international foot, not the US survey foot (0.3048006096 m) employed in some cadastral data — differences matter only at large scales. Rounding display precision may hide tiny residuals on back-conversion.

Example

10 feet equals exactly 3.048 meters because 10 × 0.3048 = 3.048. Converting the other direction, 5 meters is about 16.4042 feet (5 ÷ 0.3048). A room length of 12.5 feet maps to 3.81 meters, which is handy when translating US architectural drawings into metric site plans.
